Job Title: Finance Assistant/Bookkeeper

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000

Job Summary:

Responsible for supporting accounting operations by performing accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciling statements and accounts, and administrative functions. This position reports to the Finance Manager and will be assigned day to day tasks as needs dictate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives and processes customer check deposits and customer credit card payments.
  • Handles balancing of checking account and credit card accounts.
  • Assists in investigating and resolving customer queries.
  • Verifies and enters expense and material purchase invoices for AP.
  • Verifies and enters freight and returned cylinder invoices for AP.
  • Maintains vendor files and customer sales tax exemption documentation and filing.
  • Processes credit applications for potential new customers.
  • Processes staff expense reports; assists in any end of month reports as needed.
  • Manages all appropriate local filing and accounts email.
  • Handles AR follow-up processes.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

 

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or high school equivalent preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in finance/accounting required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and other accounting software.
  • Knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping principles.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Core days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

 

Travel:

Travel is expected 0% of the time for this position.
