Product / Technical Assistant

Summary:

The purpose of the Product/Technical Assistant is to assist in gathering customer and market information while working closely with Innovation, Quality, Production, Sales, and Marketing to achieve revenue and customer satisfaction goals. Assisting in managing the lifecycle of Quin products from conception to market launch to market penetration. The person in the position reports the Product/Technical Professional. This person needs to have a high level of team work, self-motivation and attention to detail

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with processing and managing requested NPI stages and projects, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Creates product safety data sheets through Quin’s Safety Data Sheet Management system.
  • Assists with processing GANNT charts.
  • Assists with the customer approval process, including safety data sheet creation, proofing artwork, and completing customer approval forms.
  • Processes new products into NetSuite ensuring all fields are filled out correctly, including creation of codes and requesting of inventory item codes.
  • Assists with product life cycle procedures.
  • Assists with creating materials from training to reviews to new product presentations.
  • Attends all meetings with departments and communicates with necessary team members.
  • Verifies information on safety data sheets to define any re-classification of substances, reporting the outcome and where appropriate adjust to ensure compliance.
  • Re submits customer approval forms.
  • Communicates all new products or product amends to the relevant departments.
  • Escalates any significant compliance issues through the appropriate management lines and processes.
  • Participates in continuous improvement projects where necessary and stays knowledgeable of laws and regulations.

  • Critical thinking skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to always maintain high level of compliance.
  • Project management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office, Alchemy, and Netsuite.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Prior experience in production is preferred

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

           

Essential Physical Demands and Typical Working Conditions:
75-100% Reading, monitoring work, support/guidance, analyzing, preparing data, creating reports, negotiations, communicating with employees, clients, and vendors.

50-74% Standing, walking, climbing, stooping, writing, listening, talking, kneeling, filing, sitting for extended periods.

50-74% Sedentary work (handling up to 15 pounds)

50-74% Office environment: handling office equipment and supplies.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Core days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, core hours as discussed with supervisor.

 

Travel:

Travel is expected 10% of the time for this position.
